First Person Music Review

The following is a first person account of my internal dialogue while listening through the most recent Kimbra album, The Golden Echo, for the first time. These thoughts take place over the course of the album and are condensed. If I were to write out every thought that went through my mind while traversing this... thing that she, and production team have assembled it would take longer to read than to actually listen through the album yourself (which you need to do right now anyway).
This picture scares me.
  1. Okay... That's a nice easy start.
  2. Ooh, now it sounds like a Kimbra album.
  3. This sounds like the 90s.
  4. Oh, good, she did the neat little transitional pieces like she did on Vows. I was hoping she would do that.
  5. This song is called 90s Music?
  6. ...It's getting better.
  7. Whoa.
  8. She's being intentionally relaxed with her vocals so as not to blow my mind too much. Thank you, Kimbra for considering my mind.
  9. Oh dear God, my mind just exploded.
  10. That's a lot of bass, but she's putting it to really good use. Meghan Trainor would be jealous.
  11. Ahhhhh! AHHHHHH!!!! -The drummer in me
  12. Whoa. Now I'm in space.
  13. Why do people think lots of reverb sounds like space? That's the opposite of what space sounds like.
  14. Whoa, now I'm more 'In Space'.
  15. How does she do that?
  16. It's over?
  17. Why is it over?
  18. AHHHHHHHH!!!!! -The producer in me
  19. Sigh... Welp, time to play it again.

This album is amazing. She is amazing. You need to buy this album if you haven't already. It is also available on Prime Instant if you have a Amazon Prime account.

This is Friday music.
