Some gracious soul

"News camera! Quick, pretend this is fun!"
It was only when I went to collect last night's dinner turned today's lunch from the department refrigerator that I realized I'd left all of yesterday's shopping on the counter of the office kitchen. Surely everything was now ruined!

Nope, some gracious soul found two weeks worth of lunch and put it in the refrigerator.

I considered parsing security footage to find the silent hero, but I thought it easier to write my appreciation out here in hopes they are a reader. I wonder now how many will claim responsibility for saving my lunch. This could be fun.

Thank you, whoever you are.

Ditches were dug and sandbags were filled this weekend as Tampa was (is) being saturated by record rainfall.

We're on high ground in our little corner of the county, but a lot of folks have been evacuated or rescued from their homes.

The news channels are airing footage of this year's Darwin Awards nominees swimming, riding bikes, kayaking, and paddle-boarding, and letting their kids play in the flesh eating bacteria infested currents of overflowing sewage. But hey, they got to put links to the coverage of their shenanigans on Facebook for all of their "friends" to like, validating their actions and encouraging future waves of idiots to do the same for imaginary internet points.

I wonder if the couple in the picture above will read this article and link to it on their Facebook pages...

Call it innocent fun if you like, and I'll call it real time natural selection.

In other news, California is on fire and has no water.

  1. Thoughts for the day ...and I need you to know that if I had seen your lunch on the counter I would have put it in the freezer :-)!
