Just like new!

"Just like new!"
Well, the city finally covered up the bricks with a very sloppy, scabbish looking patch of asphalt, which seems appropriate. The smooth bump of my tires when traveling over the exposed brick of that spot has been replaced with the uncomfortable ramp effect of a speed bump.

There is a spot on my little finger, healed from being sliced to the bone while trying to fix a lamp. There's a spot on my forehead, healed from a reflexive whack with a grilling spatula when a large wasp threatened to attack (he never stung me, but the cut took a week to heal). The road functions again as it should, but you can see the signs of previous damage. I wouldn't call it a battle scar since eventually the crews will resurface the road like I wrote about in the bricks post (linked above) and the scars and cracks will disappear for another few years until the next hole opens up and allows the bricks to breathe again. I can't seem to come up with a useful or write-worthy life lesson for this, so I'll leave it to you.

My wife and I celebrated 12 years of marriage this weekend!

I'm sure I'm not alone on this, but on my anniversary I always tend to ponder the fact that wow, not only did A woman choose to be with me, but THIS woman chose to be with me... Willingly! (Yes, she reads the blog. No, I'm not writing this to impress her. She doesn't require that because the is "THIS" woman!). I love you, wife.

Florida looks like this right now:

Actually, that's not accurate, that's just footage of flags flying moments before a storm rolled in to produce what Florida actually looks like right now.

Happy Monday!
