The broken plains of a mind in turmoil

There is an almost ethereal landscape in a mind in conflict. When the chaos contained with ones head becomes so overwhelmingly mountainous that all begins to clump together like a poorly played game of Tetris, eventually forming the illusion of an even plane at the highest levels of thought.

Pain; emotional and otherwise become the baseline norm; every instinct, thought, feeling, lost behind a continually flowing dispensary of clutter and decay as if the brain itself were the physical eyes and looking through glasses made of charred coal.

Memories are lost in the purging of these thoughts. Associations are broken and replaced with a hyphenated blank space, a placeholder for times gone by, reminding the conscience only that it existed during that arbitrary point of definition.

If the healthy mind is a rain-forest, full of activity, life, and motion, then the mind of someone on the brink must resemble...

MARD!
Whoa, that just happened. I was looking for an ethereal landscape picture of 'Mars' to use as a clever visual metaphor to illustrate the thoughts I expressed above and accidentally typed in 'Mard', which according to Wikipedia is a 1985 Hindi Action Film!

Mard (English: "Male" or "Man" or "Macho")  is a 1985 Hindi action film, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Amrita Singh and directed by Manmohan Desai. It was the highest earning film of 1985.[1]
The film was remade in Tamil with Rajnikanth as Maaveeran and further dubbed in Telugu, but they bombed.

What!? The highest earning film of 1985?! That's amazing!

Now, I've never seen 'Mard', but I can tell you that this is an amazing film just by looking at the faces on this accidental google image search result. If I had to assume what the movie is about from this image it would be something like this:

General Habu, who is referred to by his army as 'The Sad General' loses the love of his life, Nadjya to Indian Jeff Goldbloom. This enrages Nadjya's father, Jellyface McMustache, who arranged the marriage of his daughter to General Habu to better his political position and gain control over the Rain Coat Army and their cheerleaders.

Wow, I think I need to make this movie now, time for a kickstarter campaign! I didn't get far into the actual plot summary, but feel free to read the whole thing if you like. Here's an excerpt:

The Raja carves the word mard (man, intending to convey strength and bravery) into the newborn's chest, noting proudly that the baby is smiling throughout, and can apparently feel no pain.

They carved the word 'Mard' into a newborn baby's chest!? That's the manliest thing ever!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go find a steak knife and change my name.
